Soon to be fifteen, Serina Foss, moves with her family from California to the midwest - leaving her best friend, Sally, behind. She lands in a school where girls play hockey; unheard of where she has come from.
Serina's family includes her mother, Helen, who is recovering from cancer; her brother, Sam, a star athlete; her dad, Kevin, a dedicated canine cop, and her beloved pets, Rusty and Tasha.
